DeRubertis Software Systems, Inc. was founded in 1992 by Patricia DeRubertis as DeRubertis & Associates in Thousand Oaks, California. The company relocated to Stuart, Florida in 1994 and was incorporated in the State of Florida as DeRubertis Software Systems, Inc. In early 2002 the company moved to Orlando. DSS specializes in the development of Microsoft Access™ relational database systems, having started with version 1.0 in 1992.
DSS President Patricia DeRubertis, with a degree in business from the University of Maryland, has over twenty-five years experience designing information systems. Patricia started her career working for a number of computer consulting firms in the Silicon Valley area of Northern California. This was followed by holding the position of Chief Operating Officer at a highly successful developer of financial banking software in Los Angeles.
DSS utilizes a diversified group of experienced domestic and international programmer/consultants. This allows DSS to use the most effective mix of people on any particular job. By using seasoned subcontractors, you get a highly professional product at one of the best rates in the market.
Systems can contain advanced features such as the importing of OLE objects and linking between Access™ and other Microsoft products such as Word™ for mail merge, Excel™ for spreadsheet/graphing or Outlook™ for email capabilities. We also have the ability to link to SQL or ORACLE back ends when warranted by the data structure. Our methodical approach to testing make our systems the most reliable in the industry.
Software we have developed is currently running both nationwide and overseas on a variety of Microsoft Windows based platforms. We have systems that are implemented on stand-alone machines, local area networks and wide area networks. In the first quarter of 2003 we partnered with LoadSpring Solutions, out of Boston, to offer an Internet interface through their Cam Console software (utilizing Citrix nFuse technology).
DSS has written a wide range of applications over the years. Recent systems include a Records Management System for Cordis Corporation (a division of Johnson & Johnson), a Project Expenditure Tracking System for the Public Works Department of the City of Orlando, and a Project Inventory Control System that is being used by Black & Veatch in the construction of large scale power plants. We have also written systems for the international market, including system prompts and tool tips in multiple languages.
